So the other night I decided to learn pretty much all the basic stitches in one go from Crochet: Step by Step, a really excellent book I borrowed from the library. I may actually have to buy a copy, it's been so useful!
I can now do double, treble, half treble, double treble and treble treble. Slip stitch is a bit of a weird one, but I can sort of do it. Now I have to learn reverse double for a pattern - I'm making a potholder as a present for someone and reverse double is one of the necessary stitches.
I'll learn it in time, hopefully.
